Sorry, I need to share.
For the last month or so I have really been trying to make an effort to read scriptures and have evening family prayer.
It is amazing to me how hard this can be.
I usually have to yell at at least one of the children before it is over.
How is that for having the spirit in our home?
You know what I mean, 2Cool won't get his scriptures out, Red is guffawing like a big donkey for no reason, Cutie is hurting Little Man, the list goes on and on. In spite, of these setbacks I have kept it up and plan to continue to do so. Even if I am the only one who remembers, and thinks it is important.
But tonight we all ended up guffawing like big old donkeys. We could hardly get the prayer in. First of all, I was helping BigD read and I had to tell some obnoxious 13 year old to shush, so BigD read the scripture like this: "that they no more turn aside their hearts against the shhhhh" He said shh instead of Holy One. But you need to know that all of this is read in a shouting voice,we all were rolling on the floor.
Then a little later I was trying to get everyone to kneel and 2Cool was fighting with me about it and said," but you aren't kneeling" I informed him I would when everyone was on their knees. At which point he said to me " moving a little slow there Grandma" needless to say I boxed his ears then tried to regain a semblance of order so we could have prayer. With everyone laughing so hard this was easier said then done. It was a quick prayer and some were tittering at the end. The reason was because I asked them to "quit tittering" and the 13 year old thought that was the funniest thing he had ever heard. Boys!!!!!
